AOGEO LASER · PROCESS SELECTION
Industrial Laser Processes
Start with the production task—not laser power alone. Compare process routes against your material, quality requirements, production cycle and integration conditions.
Equipment illustrations indicate process directions only. The final configuration and process window require sample validation.
From welding, cutting, marking and cleaning to drilling, engraving, etching, micromachining and automation, an industrial laser process should be selected around the material, production task, quality criteria, throughput and factory interfaces—not laser power alone. This hub brings Aogeo Laser's main process routes together so engineering, purchasing and production teams can follow the right validation path.
Choose a Laser Process by Production Task
- Laser welding: evaluate material combinations, joint design, penetration, heat input, distortion, strength and sealing requirements.
- Laser cutting: select the source and motion platform around the material, thickness, contour accuracy, edge quality, heat effects and throughput.
- Laser marking: create serial numbers, QR codes, UDI, batch codes, logos and permanent traceability marks.
- Laser cleaning: remove rust, paint, oxides and coatings, or prepare surfaces before welding and bonding.
- Laser drilling: produce micro-holes, blind holes and through-holes in metals, ceramics, glass, PCB/FPC and films.
- Laser engraving: support deep metal engraving, textures, molds, nameplates and durable identification.
- Laser etching: handle surface patterning, selective layer removal, thin-film processing and functional textures.
- Laser micromachining: address small features, low heat impact and high-precision material removal.
- Laser automation: integrate robots, vision, fixtures, material handling, inspection and production-data interfaces into a stable workstation or line.
Inputs Needed for Process Selection
- Material and geometry: substrate, coating, material combination, thickness, part shape and fixturing conditions.
- Quality and acceptance: dimensional tolerance, surface or edge quality, strength, sealing, heat effects, appearance and traceability.
- Production demand: cycle time, changeover frequency, yield target and required automation level.
- Factory integration: guarding, extraction, cooling, robots, vision, MES and upstream or downstream interfaces.
From Sample Validation to Stable Production
- Provide the material, drawing, sample images, target result and throughput requirement.
- Use real samples to establish process feasibility, critical variables and an acceptable process window.
- Select the laser source, optics, motion platform, fixtures and automation modules from the validation result.
- Confirm the sample, cycle time, quality and safety acceptance criteria before production release.
